Earlier than ususal we got on our way this morning to see the Columbia Icefields and some rocky mountains. After getting there thankfully ahead of some fully packed tourist
busses we embarked on a glacier trip in a big wheeled vehicle. not so sure how i feel about being driven out actually onto the glacier with the bus company even having busterminals on the glacier (a modest number of 8) and transporting masses of up to 100 people at the same time. anyway, the view was fun (how can it not be fun to be on a glacier...?!?!) and if you blended out the people there was actually the aura of greatness hanging in the air. somewhere. i liked the glacier exhibit in the chalet and we drove away with not so much new knowledge about the glaciers but with the assurance of having used north america's biggest women's bathroom in the park's chalet.
it IS in the guiness book of records...
