We're officially in the prairies! so far, so good. Regina is smaller than Winnepeg, but there is a beautiful park in the middle and we had a nice walk yesterday. The speed limit picked up, first in Manitoba to 100, then (exciting) in Saskatchewan 110! So we're flying. In Winnipeg, the Western fast food, restaurant and store chains started showing up and now they are everywhere. Its really making me feel at home, though Peg hasn't a clue what I'm talking about. Though she is excited about Taco Bell. A woman of good taste.
Today we're heading into Calgary and over the next few days, the rockies. Not sure what internet we will have/not have, but until then, we'll be enjoying the open skies, trains and grain elevators, the "Cathedrals of the Prairies."
(Peg thought skies was the plural of ski, cause its the German spelling.

She was a little too excited about the Saskatchewan license plate slogan: Land of the Living Skies....)

I'll be arriving in Calgary on Monday night at about supper time. If you are still there, I'll buy you a great Calgary supper - or some equivalent. Call me if you want to follow up.
